SOUTH ASIAN STUDIES PROGRAMME NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SINGAPORE

The South Asian Studies Programme (SASP) and the Global Studies Programme (GL) in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the National University of Singapore seeks a tenurable position at the Associate Professor level.

Candidates should have doctoral training in Politics or Political Economy broadly conceived with a strong grounding in South Asian Studies. The appointee would be expected to teach and develop undergraduate and graduate modules in the Politics of South Asia, Globalisation and Developmental Studies. The successful candidate will also be able to supervise research by advanced undergraduate and postgraduate students and contribute to the research profile of the South Asian Studies Programme and the Global Studies Programme at NUS. Familiarity with and competence in a relevant South Asian language is essential. Curriculum development experience would be advantageous.

Short-listed candidates will be invited to make campus visits in August 2016, with a view to the appointments starting, if possible, in January 2017. The appointment will be made to the South Asian Studies Programme as the primary department and the Global Studies Programme as the secondary department.
